Third Annual
Global General Gathering of Triple Nine Society
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, September 2-5, 2011
Plan to attend the third annual Global General Gathering of the
Triple Nine Society in historic Philadelphia on Labor Day Weekend 2011, September 2-5.
We have arranged for meeting space and a discounted rate for sleeping rooms at the beautiful
Doubletree by Hilton Hotel
in Center City Philadelphia. The hotel is centrally located on the Avenue of the Arts, across the street from the Academy of Music, within easy walking distance of many of the city’s attractions. Call 800-222-tree (800-222-8733) and ask for the ggg999 group rate, which is $119/night plus tax.
If the ggg999 room block is sold out, there is the Great Getaway rate from $124.80.

Program:
Friday
|
6:00 | Gather in hotel lobby to split up into groups for dinner
| |
Two restaurants within walking distance that Franny recommends are Estia ($$$) at 1405 Locust, and Barbuzzo ($$) at 110 S. 13th Street. Reservations are recommended. Franny and family will be dining at Balcony, the restaurant in the hotel, as we are not sure what time brother Paul and his wife will arrive due to traffic from BWI, and we are not sure what time our four year old daughter will tucker out and be whisked upstairs to bed. Email Franny if you are planning to dine at Balcony and she will reserve a large enough table for all.

Join the fun! Novices are welcome. The "speaker" (a very inappropriate term for charades) provides pencils and paper for you to write your entries. Before we start playing, there will be some introductory activities: the speaker reviews the signals briefly, and you write your entries. To save time, optionally you might think of your entries in advance. If you have a chance to surf the web before attending charades, you can go to http://alum.mit.edu/www/ghs and click on "charades" for a preview of the signals.
