Hank Brown is a past U. S. Senator and President Emeritus of University of Colorado. He has also served as President of University of Northern Colorado, five terms in the U. S. House of Representatives and four years in the Colorado State Senate.

Brown earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from the University of Colorado in 1961 and served as CU’s Student Body President. He earned a Juris Doctorate Degree from the University of Colorado Law School in 1969. While in Washington, Brown earned a Master of Law Degree in 1986 from George Washington University. In 1988, he passed the exam to become a certified public accountant.

Brown served in the U.S. Navy from 1962-66. He volunteered for service in Viet Nam and was decorated for his combat service as a forward air controller.

He is now the first holder of the Quigg and Virginia S. Newton Endowed Chair in Leadership at University of Colorado, teaches political science, practices law and is Chairman of the Daniels Fund, a billion-dollar foundation established by the late cable entrepreneur, Bill Daniels..
